I grew up on a 99-acre horse farm in Southern New Hampshire, where I was actively engaged in farm work as well as showing, training, exercising, and riding. Arabians and Morgans are my favorite breeds! Since I no longer own horses, I've been volunteering my time to ride for horse owners in my area who need my assistance and skills, or simply need a second person to ride with.
I am the mother of two boys who have grown into two young men who make me proud. I decided I wanted to be around more for my boys and have more flexible hours, so I started my own business, A-La-Carte Bookkeeping, in May 2009 in a small town in Southern New Hampshire.
I went to college and graduated with a degree in Accounting and Business Management.
When I was in junior high, I started working in an office and doing administrative work. I continued to work in a variety of office jobs, including admin, bookkeeping, human resources, supervisor, management, and finally as a staff accountant. Throughout my career, I have worked in a number of CPA firms.
I've been a Staff Accountant for over 25 years, and I've also worked in office management for over 15 years. Every year, I continue my training, not only in the software, but also by earning CPE credits online in order to keep up with the ever-changing tax and accounting world.
I am as invested in your company as you are, and I want to assist you in reaching your objectives. I have high standards for integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, but I am also down to earth, easy to talk to, and enjoy the outdoors.
I have managed effective and accurate bookkeeping/accounting and office procedure systems for small to mid-size businesses in a variety of industries over the years. I have worked with many start-up companies, as well as companies that did not have a bookkeeping program, clean-up, catch-ups, training, job costing, class tracking, location tracking, and inventory management. My many years of hands-on experience in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks On-Line, as well as my certification as a QB Pro-Advisor, provide my clients with more options and capabilities within QuickBooks to meet the needs of their business.
